Engaging & Immersive WW1 Experiences for schools
Frontline Living History is dedicated to communicating the past in a way which is engaging, interactive, immersive and fun.
We've delivered over 500 highly successful WW1 Workshops, Presentations & Displays in schools, museums & communities from Northumbria to the
Isle of Wight, working with students from
Reception to Sixth Form.
Working in partnership with tour providers, schools and unique locations here and abroad, we've guided hundreds of students across the battlefields of the Western Front, or immersed them in the realities of trench warfare in authentic trenches within the UK.
Whether you're looking to enhance the learning experience of students at Primary, KS3, KS4 or KS5, get in touch to see what we can offer you!
If you're taking students on a WW1 battlefield tour and want some help with planning your tour, researching links to your school, community or students' families, or a guide to accompany and lead your tour, contact me for more information.

ABOUT
inspiring young people to engage actively with the past and understand how it shapes their lives today.
David Allton
Frontline Living History was set up 2014, the idea of experienced teacher and living historian David Allton. From the beginning, the aim was to deliver in-school First World War education experiences which were high quality, authentically resourced, researched in detail and curriculum linked.
By 2016 Frontline's growing reputation among History teachers and changes to the GCSE curriculum allowed another experienced living historian and educator to be recruited. Richard Townsley, with a long background of researching military & medical history and an extensive artefact collection to support it, added his expertise to the Frontline offer.
Ten years later, and with more than 500 in-school workshops, battlefield tours, community events and TV/film work behind us, Frontline Living History marches proudly on!
